Chicago drug lord Shiv Thompson has built a hidden heroin distribution center in rural Wisconsin. One of his employees has stolen $14 million dollars in hundred-dollar bills and $8 million dollars worth of heroin. While running him to ground, Shiv's men have killed the thief but found no trace of the stolen drugs or cash.
Tour bus driver and ex-Marine Drew Sherry, returning home from driving a three-day casino tour through northern Wisconsin, discovers the heroin and cash in a storage bay on his bus. Realizing it must have come from a major dealer, Sherry and his fiancée decide to keep their new-found wealth. With Drew's father and his father's girlfriend, the family goes on the run, sparking an exciting chase that takes them from the Caribbean to Ireland to Vietnam, and finally, to Wyoming and Chicago.
Thompson and his gang, including the two Chicago detectives on his payroll, use the policemens' contacts and Thompson's ruthless operation to pursue the Sherry family, resulting in a denouement as satisfying as it is unexpected.

I am always looking for new authors to add to my watch list and meeting characters that I want to get to know better in series adventures. Lister’s Excess Baggage should be the first in a series. The story itself is as described above in the Book Description. Some of the things that made me keep reading are: the protagonists themselves, four people who actually have the background experience to support their adventures instead of people who miraculously develop super powers on the spot; characters who, despite their talents, are capable of pulling an occasional bonehead play proving that they are human; a story that provides a unique description of drug distribution operations that differs from the norm; research that provides a teaching element not always present with some authors; and, a good, solid, reality-based story that will hold your interest throughout. I recommend this one and hope for new ones.Product details

Good read but hard to follow at times.
Great story, the best part is there may be a sequel too this book. I highly recommended for a good read, the benchmark for me of a great book is can this be a movie? The answer is yes this would be a great movie, I will be recommending this book to a screen writer and a director that I know. I look forward too more of Mr. Lister work. Well worth your money and time.
